Why Use Stainless Steel Drink Bottles

There are many benefits to using stainless steel drink bottles, but the most obvious is it stops the use of disposable water bottles and the harm they cause to the environment. In the world, one million disposable water bottles are purchased every minute, and if it stays the way it is, some research projections say by 2050, there will be more plastic by weight than fish in the world’s oceans. This is a horrific statistic and one we can do our little part in preventing. You may think you are helping by drinking from a PET bottle which is touted as being highly recyclable, but even these can take up to 400 years to decompose naturally. As a result, every year up to 30 billion plastic bottles are either buried in landfills or thrown in the ocean.

Another reason stainless steel bottles are better for you is they contain no BPA. This stands for Bisphenol A which has been linked to all types of health issues including diabetes, reproductive issues, neurological issues and even cancer. If you drink from a disposable bottle, there is a high likelihood it contains BPA. If you use stainless steel bottles, you drink from them in the knowledge that you are safe from harmful BPA. If you are looking to purchase aluminium bottles, make sure you check the lining. As they are not classified as food-grade metal, the majority of aluminium bottles have a plastic inner lining which can sometimes contain BPA. Stainless steel does have food grade qualities, so you will not find a plastic lining in them. All the drink bottles you find on our website are all BPA free.

The other major benefit to stainless steel drink bottles is their insulation. Whether you are enjoying a hold or cold drink, stainless steel is an effective insulator. You can also beef this up by getting drink bottles that are double-walled and even vacuum insulated. The latter style can keep hot and cold drinks to temperature for up to 24 hours. That makes them ideal for hot days when you want a cold beverage and likewise on colder wintry days when you want a sip of hot coffee or chocolate. You know your beverage will still be hot or cold.

One warning though in regards to stainless steel drink bottles. Not all are equal. Besides being rated as food-grade, also check what type of stainless steel has been used in the construction. Some bottles can contain toxic levels of lead, so always check to see the quality of the metal is either #304 or 18/8 food-grade stainless steel. If it is one of these you are guaranteed safety while drinking.
